Ocean + Main
Impact Reduction Plan
Remote | September - December 2022
A greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory + emissions reduction plan for the Los Angeles-based clothing brand, Ocean+Main.
Ocean+Main was already a highly sustainable brand with a well-considered supply chain, so I had to spend a significant amount of time analysing the data, refining the material matrix and looking at local policy changes relating to renewable energy. Working closely with the CEO and founder, I created a GHG inventory from data gathered, calculated and analysed value chain emissions (including for cotton, silk, and cupro production and clothing manufacturing) to develop a GHG reduction plan (using the GHG Protocol method). I developed recommended actions to reduce emissions and found potential reductions of at least 46% without carbon offsets.
